1937 airmail, special delivery, commercial advertising cover sent from Los Angeles, CA to North Quincy, MA. At front left, it has a detailed black-ink depiction of the New Rosslyn Hotels on this hotel stationery. The cover has two cancellations on the front reading July 22, 1937 (Los Angeles, Calif. Arcade Annex), and on the reverse, it has two different cancellations reading July 23, 1937 (Boston, Mass. (J-1)) and July 23, 1937 (Quincy, Mass. (68 or 69)). In addition, there is a handstamp on the front reading “Fee Paid at Quincy, Mass. Number ____, Date July 24, 1937, Time 7 A.M. ___ P.M.” On the reverse, there is a printed notation reading, “Letters mailed in hotel envelopes if not delivered are sent to the dead letter office unless the writer gives a return address if not delivered in ___ days. Return to ___ [no return address provided].” On the front, there is also a handwritten notation reading “Air Mail Special Delivery.” The cover is franked with one 6c (Scott #C19) and one 10c (Scott #E15) stamps. Clearly, this was an important letter. The cover is in excellent condition.
