The Suntour Alpha Freewheel was introduced in the 1980s and was situated above Pro-Compe model and below the Winner model in the product range. Interesting is the outer cogs have chiseled teeth for better shifting. There is shoulder on this model extending past the 14 cog amount 5 mm wide that requires a little wider hub spacing than regulat 5 speed freewheels. The Alpha freewheel is also about 50 lighter than the Perfect models. Wide spaced cogs shift best with friction. Smooth running Freewheel.
