This auction is for the one Garnier bowl, only. Object: This auction is for a beautiful handcrafted, wheel turned, 10-ounce bowl signed by the artist. This is a beautiful example of Garnier Porcelain’s unique, light blue and snowy white flambeau glaze with touches of violet, and pale gold baubles. Colors are richer and warmer than photos show. Photos cannot do justice to this piece. Artist/Studio: Artist/Studio: Barb & Lafe Garnier, Porcelain by Garnier Studio Lafe Garnier studied pottery in his home state of Washington as a student at Western Washington University. About 1972, with his wife, Barb, he opened their studio, Porcelain by Garnier, in Chino, CA. For a time, they were assisted by accomplished potter, Maureen Squires of Chino, who founded Squires Ceramics Studio in Big Bear, California. The Garnier’s later relocated to Cottonwood/Sedona, AZ where they retired and closed operations after over 30 years of production. Their distinctive and beautifully glazed porcelains make for stunning displays and are highly collectible but are becoming harder and harder to find. Photos can’t do justice to these colors. Any yellow or green tones or white spots are from the camera. Material: Porcelain pottery Surface: Glossy and smooth; slightly tactile wheel turning rings; unglazed bottom Technique: Wheel turned; hand made Features: Flared rim and small foot; deep dish; beautiful bauble pattern in the glaze; artist signed. Condition: Very good pre-owned condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or surface wear, and only a little shelf wear on the unglazed bottom. White spots are reflections from the camera. Any irregularities in shape or glaze, or any fleabites, etc. would be from the handmade process. Please see photos. Most of our items are estate finds and are in good to excellent used condition.
