eBay Music Man SABRE BASS Fretless MOD 1979 Natural Used Maple Neck w/Hard Case Music Man SABRE BASS Fretless MOD 1979 Natural Used Maple Neck w/Hard Case SABER BASS made in 1977 is now in stock. Compared to Music Man’s representative model, the Sting Ray, the body size is smaller and easier to handle. It features a variety of sounds produced by two humbucker pickups, master volume, treble, bass, 3-way pickup selector, phase switch, and treble boost switch. It has been modified to be fretless, but because the fingerboard surface is polished without removing the frets, the original frets remain as lines. The fingerboard surface has been overcoated somewhat roughly, so there are paint spots, and there are traces of paint dripping from the side of the fingerboard to the neck grip. There are holes left by strap pins on the body back, and the bridge sponge mute is missing. There are many scratches and dents scattered throughout, and the metal parts are dull. The hard case is original, but there are writings on the exterior and some of the coating has been peeled off. There is some wear and tear commensurate with age, but the neck and electrical system are in good condition.
