In response to demand from our Zero-Mod Ric and Jazz users, we now offer a Zero-Mod Thumb Rest for the Stingray Bass! This fits both the single pickup Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray’s and the Sterling By Music Man Ray’s. Does NOT FIT the HH or HS versions. Do you want that fat meaty sound you get from the “P Bass/Jazz Bass” fingering positions ? Do you have misgivings about drilling holes in your Stingray? This requires NO modification to your Bass, and gives you the range and reach of the classic Fender rest. Easy on – Easy off…..Uses the existing pickguard mounting holes on your Stingray (see the pics). Made of clear top quality polycarbonate on precision CNC machinery – NOT molded. Right here in the USA in a NY machine shop. It comes with two slightly longer screws that account for the thickness of the rest, so it doesn’t even change the screw holes of your bass. They are invisible on a black or white guard from a few feet away. We also make the SR1 in super strong BLACK acrylic that virtually disappears on a black guard.Check out our listing for the SR1-BL to see “The Black Version” and more pics! Please make sure your pickguard screw pattern will allow the SR1 thumb rest to fit.See the Picture above with the guard outline.Check that your pickguard has the two holes in the same locations as the guard in the picture.The holes MUST be 70mm apart.IT WILL NOT FIT ANY OTHER PATTERN! This model should fit most Ernie Ball Music Man 4-string Stingray basses,and “should” fit most Sterling by MusicMan SUB Stingray Basses with the same style pickguard (Single H versions ONLY).Examples are the Ray 4, Ray 34, etc. You need to measure SCREW-CENTER to SCREW-CENTER to verify your fit on those. THIS model DOES fit Stingray 5-strings using the classic 4-string style oval pickguard — However the distance between the bottom of the rest and strings will be tighter. Confused about Stingray, Sterling, and Sterling by Music Man ???There’s lots of confusion out there about “Sterling” and “Sterling by Music Man.” Here’s the answer: “Sterling by MusicMan” (SBMM) is bass manufacturing company, just like Squire is for Fender. SBMM makes a lower cost, often lighter weight line of basses modeled on the EBMM basses. That said, many SBMM basses often share the SAME GUARD with their more expensive, heavier big brothers produced by Ernie Ball Music Man. The Sterling is an EBMM bass, just as the EBMM Stingray is, but the Sterling has a different guard — this rest WILL NOT FIT the Sterling bass. The Sterling needs our SRS1 rest. “STERLING by MusicMan” made the SB4 and the SB14 modeled on the EBMM Sterling, and they need our SRS1 rest as well.While the Sterling pickguard look is similar to the oval Stingray guard, the screw spacing is very different. The “Sterling by MusicMan” line of single H basses modeled on Stingray’s (For example the Ray24, Ray34, Ray34Ca and the S.U.B. Ray 4, ) will take this SR1 rest. To verify this, since things can always change: Simply place a ruler between the two screws you’d use to mount the zero-Mod. The SCREW CENTER to SCREW-CENTER measurement needs to be 70mm for proper fit.
